What is a False Christian?

Many are calling themselves Christians and thinking themselves saved when they are not. What is a false Christian? It is someone whose lifestyle does not match the bible. They say they believe in God and Jesus Christ, but their actions don’t match. False Christians don’t read the bible much and find it to be boring. They don’t pray for the lost or care about growing in holiness. Even though on Sunday they go to church, or wear a cross around their neck, they still spend time with old friends telling dirty jokes, with dirty thoughts, and bad habits. They have never changed.

Yet a true believer now has a deep passion for God and loves him above all. The old things in their lives have been replaced by Jesus Christ as their treasure. Test yourself. Are you born again? Are you true Christian or a false Christian? Beware. False Christians don’t go to heaven.

Titus 1:16 – “They profess to know God, but they deny him by their works.”

2 Corinthians 13:5 – “Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you fail to meet the test!”
